Microsoft Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) is seeking an Associate Paralegal to support the Litigation Group. The Litigation team handles a wide range of civil and regulatory matters across Microsoft’s product groups and businesses, and this position will have a direct supporting role in a broad variety of legal issues.
Deep involvement in the in-house discovery process as a key liaison between the case team, custodians, witnesses, and corporate representatives, facilitating key aspects of fact-finding and case management workstreams
Assist in the search, collection and production of documents, data and Microsoft products requested in the discovery process
Consistent adherence to internal processes to preserve the chain of custody and authenticity of digital evidence
Processing and responding to third-party subpoenas
Scheduling witness interviews, meetings and depositions
Maintaining internal SharePoint sites, tracking logs, and databases
Coordinating with support vendors
Maintaining electronic litigation files
Distribution of case materials to outside counsel
3-5 years experience supporting the legal profession, paralegal experience preferred
Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft productivity software including Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint
Ability to learn and troubleshoot new data collection tools and processes quickly and escalate issues appropriately
Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and adjust to workload fluctuations
Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
