About the Office:
This announcement covers one position in the Office of the Chief Counsel (CC), Management Division. The incumbent serves as a staff attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel (CC), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Department of Justice (DOJ). The incumbent is assigned to the Associate Chief Counsel, Management Division and primarily provides legal advice to ATF officials in the area of employment law, specifically employee disciplinary matters. The incumbent may also practice in the areas of ethics, contracts and fiscal law.

The incumbent primarily provides legal advice and recommendations to ATF officials in the area of employment law. Specifically, the incumbent provides advice to the ATF Professional Review Board Chair and the ATF Bureau Deciding Official on misconduct matters that have been referred to the ATF Internal Affairs Division for investigation. The incumbent may also practice in the areas of ethics, contracts and fiscal law, and may advise on other issues assigned to the Management Division.
Applicants must possess a J.D. degree.
