Summary of Position:
Support the Vice President & General Counsel by providing paralegal and administrative support to the Honda Center, Anaheim Ducks, San Diego Gulls, Rinks and Great Park Ice organizations. This position requires the ability to work independently, think analytically, perform tasks efficiently and interact with multiple levels of company management. The candidate must have a Juris Doctor degree and admission to a state bar, preferably California. The candidate must also be a quick learner and have exceptionally strong document review, writing and verbal communication skills.
The busy in-house legal department seeks a corporate attorney to assist our Vice President & General Counsel. Must have strong proof reading, writing and communication skills, be exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and work well under pressure. You are a detail oriented, technologically savvy team player and enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Will interact with all levels of management/outside counsel, and handle multiple, conflicting and/or shifting deadlines and varying work assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to the General Counsel and provide support and assistance with addressing the legal needs of various business departments including sponsorship, legal compliance, sales, operations, employment matters, ADA matters and marketing
Draft, negotiate and/or process correspondence and standard contracts and other legal documents which may include sponsorship agreements, independent contractor agreements, ticketing agreements, letter agreements, vendor agreements, waivers, contest and sweepstakes rules and internal policies
Collaborate with various business units on legal compliance matters
Assist General Counsel in the management of litigation matters and legal process responses
Conduct research projects on various issues and report findings to General Counsel
