Nature of Supervision:
Under the general direction of the Vice President Legal Affairs, the incumbent is expected to perform ongoing legal tasks, with minimal direction and guidance, and collaborate with members of all departments on various projects. The incumbent is responsible for exercising discretion and independent judgment when performing job duties and must display a high degree of ethics, integrity, and professionalism.
Will assist with a variety of legal matters arising in a global retail environment, advising on a diverse and challenging array of matters affecting the company.
The majority of work is performed in an office environment while a small portion of time may be spent traveling in airplane and/or automobile.
Interaction will occur with all levels of colleagues and management, outside counsel, consultants, and regulatory agencies, in the performance of job duties. Interaction will generally entail providing advice on business and legal issues.
Experience in one or more of the following areas: (i) retail and/or e-Commerce business matters, (ii) mergers and acquisitions, and (iii) joint venture, partnership and strategic collaboration agreements.
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school with exceptional academic credentials and a member of a state bar in good standing
At least 8-10 years of relevant experience, including both in an in-house capacity as well as at a nationally reputable law firm as a transactional attorney.
2+ years of prior data privacy experience.
